Mini-Phinney Not So Mini!
On Monday Bouldarian Taylor Phinney set a world junior record in the 3000-meter individual pursuit at the ADT Event Center in California.
Phinney (who is only 17) clocked a time of 3:16.65 during a USA Cycling qualifying event. The first world record set on the indoor velodrome, it eclipses the mark of 3:17.775 set in 2004 by Michael Ford of Australia.
“Achieving this mark was one of my goals when I started my Olympic training this year,” said Phinney. “As our team prepares for Beijing, I couldn’t be more proud to set this record and am excited to represent the United States in the Olympics.”
The members of the U.S. Olympic team will be announced July 1.

Longtime friends and teammates Ian MacGregor and Timmy Duggan have teamed up to launch the Just Go Harder Foundation, a youth scholarship fund that will enable deserving kids to enrich their lives through mentorship and participation in cycling and skiing sports. After becoming elite level alpine ski racers before climbing the ranks of the cycling world, Timmy and Ian realize how much the opportunity to ski and ride as well as the influence of mentors and coaches have truly shaped their lives. It wasn't free skis or cross-country trips to races that made a difference, it was simply the opportunity to enjoy sport and be around mentors who genuinely care. In our case, the Eldora Mountain Ski Club, Singletrack MTB Adventures, and the American Cycling Association provided our chances to grow, learn, and improve.
Cycling and skiing are unique sports in that they are both very individual sports, yet success can only happen with a team. Participation in these sports teaches a variety of skills that young athletes can use both in sport and for the rest of their lives. If everybody had the chance to ride or ski, to have a mentor, and to have a dream, the world would truly be a better place. The mission of the Just Go Harder Foundation is to provide dreams, goals, and a path to kids through cycling and skiing.
The Just Go Harder Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization that relies on fundraising and donations to offset the costs of sport and mentorship program fees. Our goal is to provide monetary scholarships for kids who may not otherwise be able to participate and have a mentor in cycling and skiing.
The foundation has partnered with Firestation Roasters, a small coffee roasting company in Timmy and Ian's hometown of Nederland, CO. An easy way to donate to the fund is to purchase the foundation's own small batch, hand roasted blend of gourmet coffee. 100% of profits from sales of coffee through the Just Go Harder Foundation and its website will go toward the scholarship fund.
Feel free to read our website, www.JustGoHarder.com where you can learn more and find out how you can make a difference. If you have any question, comments or ideas please don't hesitate to contact us at Foundation@JustGoHarder.com
Finally, we are asking for your help in getting the foundation up and running. Please help us out by going to the website and purchasing coffee or by making a tax deductible donation!
Thanks for your support,
Ian & Timmy
